This chapter is enacted pursuant to the authority of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York and shall be known as the "Games of Chance Law of the Village of Altamont."
The conduct of games of chance within the Village of Altamont by authorized organizations as defined in § 186 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York is hereby authorized upon the issuance of a license therefor, upon application to the Village Clerk, in accordance with the provisions, requirements and limitations of Article 9-A of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York and the rules and regulations of the New York State Racing and Wagering Board.
This chapter shall take effect immediately upon filing with the Secretary of State after approval thereof by the voters of the Village of Altamont voting thereon at a special Village election to be held on July 18, 1989.[1]
