In compliance with the requirements of the Federal Environmental
Protection Agency, to foster increased participation by Minority Business
Enterprises, as Supervisor of the Town of Stockport, this communication
is to hereby establish a policy of full commitment to a goal-oriented
MBE program.
As chief executive officer of the Town of Stockport, being responsible
and accountable for carrying out the program and in ensuring minority
participation, both at the employment and entrepreneurial level, specifically
in the area of minority entrepreneurship, this policy calls for identification
of minority contractors and suppliers; identification of minority
architects/engineers and other related professionals; distribution
of information to minority contractors; projections of workforce needs
and types of work to be contracted, separated by trade category; technical
assistance; management information service; and other services to
assist minority contractors' professional participation.
With the issuance of this policy of full commitment to a goal-oriented
MBE program, copies of the same are to be conspicuously posted in
all places where minority entrepreneurs and employees may have occasion
to visit and also circulated to all Town of Stockport departments,
minority economic development agencies and organizations, contractors'
associations (both minority and nonminority), newspapers and other
appropriate media.
