No person shall fire or discharge any bow and
arrow within the limits of any highway, park or other public property,
except with the written permission of the Select Board, or on any
private property, except with the written consent of the landowner
or legal occupant thereof. No person shall fire or discharge any rifle,
shotgun or handgun of .22 caliber or larger within the limits of the
Town of Ashland, except on a range or in an area designated for such
purpose and approved by the Chief of Police in writing.
Nothing in this chapter shall curtail the use
of firearms by police or other law enforcement officers nor the right
of self defense nor legally justified protection of one's property.
