[HISTORY: Adopted by the Mayor and Council of the Borough of Runnemede 8-6-1968 by Ord. No. 224 (Ch. 85 of the 1970 Code). Amendments noted where applicable.]

No person shall hereafter remove shopping carts from the premises of a food store or market supplying or furnishing shopping carts for the convenience of customers in transporting their purchases from the food store or market to their automobile or other conveyance for the purpose of transferring their purchases to such automobile or other conveyance.
The owners or operators of the food stores or markets supplying or furnishing shopping carts for the convenience of customers as aforesaid, or their agents, shall post notices, signs or placards in a prominent location or locations in and on the premises at which such food stores or markets are located, informing the customers or buying public of the prohibition established by this chapter and of the penalties attached to the violation of this chapter; such notices, signs or placards shall be not less than 12 inches by 12 inches in size.
Any person found guilty in the Municipal Court of violating the provisions of this chapter shall be subject to the penalty as provided in § 1-15, General penalty, of this Code.
