[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees
of the Village of Coxsackie 7-14-1980 by L.L. No. 4-1980. Amendments noted where
applicable.]
There is hereby established the Village of Coxsackie
Council on the Arts.
Such Council shall consist of nine members who
shall be appointed by the Mayor subject to the approval of the Board
of Trustees. The Chairperson shall be designated by the Mayor each
year at the organizational meeting of the Board of Trustees.
Each year the Chairperson shall designate the
Vice Chairperson, Secretary, Financial Secretary and the heads of
all committees.
Each member of the Council shall be appointed
for a period of four years.
The Mayor shall appoint as members of the Council
residents of the Village of Coxsackie having background in the arts,
either through education or experience. In the event that said persons
are not available or willing to serve, then any resident of the Town
of Coxsackie may be appointed.
Pursuant to § 4-400 of the Village
Law of the State of New York, the Mayor shall be an ex officio member
of the Council.
The Council shall have the responsibility for
the development of and the fostering of interest in the arts within
the Village of Coxsackie in such ways as it shall deem proper in keeping
with the needs of the community.
