The owner or occupant of any lot or parcel of land fronting on any public street or avenue in the Village of Coxsackie shall be and hereby is required to cut the grass, weeds and bushes in such street or avenue opposite such lot or parcel of land at anytime that when such grass, weeds or brush equal 10 inches in height or at the direction of Superintendent of the Department of Public Works.

Whenever the owner or occupant of any such lot or parcel of land fronting on any public street or avenue in said Village shall fail to cut the grass, weeds or bushes in the street in front of such lot or parcel of land as above provided, it shall be the duty of the Superintendent of Streets, Parks and Municipal Buildings of the Village of Coxsackie to cut the same, and the expense thereof shall be a lien upon the adjoining land and shall be charged and assessed against the same.

Any person, firm or corporation who shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
