No person, firm or corporation shall place, throw or deposit any ice, snow, dirt, sand, gravel, brick, stone, lumber or other material or rubbish upon, near or about any fire hydrant in the Village of Coxsackie so as to hinder, obstruct or delay free access thereto.

No person, firm or corporation, except officers or members of the Fire Department or police officers of the Village of Coxsackie or employees of the Board of Trustees while engaged in the performance of their duties as such or persons lawfully engaged in extinguishing or attempting to extinguish a fire, shall open or make any attachment with a hose or otherwise or any connection with any fire hydrant or other public hydrant in the Village of Coxsackie without the written permission of the Board of Trustees.

Any person, firm or corporation who or which shall violate any of the provisions of this chapter shall, upon conviction, be punishable by a fine of not more than $250 or by imprisonment for not more than 15 days, or both.
