The Village is hereby divided into four election districts,
bounded and described as follows:
A.Â
First
District: Albany Avenue to the south side of Market Street, the east
side of Hudson Avenue to Clinton Street and the west side of Hudson
Avenue to the south side of Market Street.
B.Â
Second
District: the north side of Market Street, the west side of Hudson
Avenue from Market Street to Swan Street and the east side of Hudson
Avenue from Clinton Street to Center Street.
C.Â
Third
District: the south side of Swan Street, taking in everything east
of the tracks, and Hudson Avenue on the west side from Swan Street
North and on the east side from Center Street North.
D.Â
Fourth
District: the south side of Swan Street, including everything north
and west of the tracks.

The annual election in the Village of Green Island, New York,
for the election of all elective Village offices shall be held and
conducted in the fall of each year hereafter, coincident with the
general fall elections held in accordance with and as provided by
the federal election laws and the Election Law of the State of New
York and any amendments thereto changing or varying the date of general
fall elections.
The official year of the Village of Green Island, New York,
shall begin at 12:00 noon on the first day of January and end on the
first day of each January thereafter, commencing on the first day
of January 1982.
A.Â
The
term of office of the Mayor and each Trustee elected for a full term
shall be two official years.
B.Â
All
elective officers of the Village of Green Island shall serve until
the end of their respective terms for which they were elected, except
as hereinafter provided:
(1)Â
There shall be no elections of the Village elective officers in the
Village of Green Island until the fall elections to be held in the
year 1981. Vacancies in elective Village offices shall be filled in
accordance with the provisions of the Village Law.
(2)Â
The term of office of the three Trustees elected in March 1980 and
expiring at 12:00 noon on the first of April 1982 shall be extended
to 12:00 noon on January 1, 1983.
(3)Â
The term of office of the Mayor and the three Trustees to be elected
in March 1981 shall terminate at 12:00 noon on January 1, 1982.
C.Â
The term of office of the Mayor and each Trustee hereafter elected pursuant to this article shall be for two official years commencing at 12:00 noon on the first day of January following the respective elections and terminating at 12:00 noon on the first day of the second January thereafter, except as provided in Subsection B(2) and (3) of this section.
The annual organizational meeting of the Board of Trustees shall
be held at 7:00 p.m. on the first Monday of April 1981 and on the
first Monday of January in the year 1982 and each year thereafter,
except that if said day shall fall upon the first day of January in
any year, then said Board of Trustees shall meet at 7:00 p.m. of the
following day, and such meeting shall be known as the "Annual Organizational
Meeting of the Board of Trustees."
