A. 
No person shall discharge a rifle, shotgun, pistol, longbow or crossbow within the limits of the Village of Green Island, New York, including any of the waterways within the jurisdiction of said Village.
B. 
The prohibitions contained in Subsection A shall not apply to:
(1) 
Programs conducted by public schools offering instruction and training in the use of rifle, shotgun, pistol, longbow or crossbow.
(2) 
The authorized use of a pistol, rifle or target range regularly operated and maintained by a police department or other law enforcement agency or by any duly organized membership organization or a commercial indoor pistol, rifle or target range whose design plans are in compliance with the National Rifle Association design standards at the time of construction and the plans for which are duly signed and stamped by a New York State licensed engineer. No such range shall be located closer than 140 feet to any occupied residential building, and the range shall contain a minimum of 7,500 square feet.

Any violation of this chapter shall be punished by a fine not to exceed $250 or imprisonment for a term not to exceed 15 days, or both.
