For the purpose of ensuring adequate police protection in the Borough of Masontown, Fayette County, Pennsylvania, there is hereby created a Police Department, consisting of at least three members and such additional members as Council may from time to time establish by resolution.

The Police Department established hereunder may consist of a Chief of Police, Lieutenant, two Sergeants, two Corporals, patrolmen and such others as may be deemed necessary by the Borough Council by appropriate resolution.
The salaries of the members of said Police Department shall be fixed by the Borough Council and shall be enacted by appropriate resolution.
The Police Department established hereunder shall be administered in the manner provided for by law for the administration of Police Departments in boroughs in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
