No person shall erect or maintain on any street, lane or alley of the Borough any telegraph, telephone, electric light or other pole without first obtaining a permit therefor from the Borough. A pole erected or maintained without such a permit is hereby declared to be a nuisance.
Any person desiring to erect a telegraph, telephone, electric light or other pole within the Borough shall, after a permit has been granted therefor, as provided in § 295-3, erect such pole on such street, alley or lane and at such place and distance as is designated by the Borough Engineer.
