Chapter 228, Sewer and Water, shall incorporate and utilize the definitions and abbreviations set forth in N.J.A.C. 7:14A-1.1 and 7:14A-1.2, as may be amended. In addition, the following words and phrases shall have the meanings ascribed in this chapter:
Any duly authorized representative of the owner.
Any assemblage of components, materials or special equipment
which is designed, constructed and installed for controlled dispersion
of water from any safe and suitable source, for the purpose of irrigating
landscape vegetation or the control of dust and erosion on landscape
areas, including drip irrigation systems, integral pumping systems
or integral control systems for manual, semiautomatic or automatic
control of the operation of these systems.
That part of a horizontal drainage system beginning five
feet from outside the inner face of the building wall, which receives
the discharge from the building drain and conveys it to a public sewer
or other place of disposal.
The Water and Sewer Department of the Town of Newton.[1]
All pipes other than service connections conveying water
to or distributing water from the Town water supply, or all pipes
or conduits other than service connections connecting with the sanitary
sewer system.
Any person other than the owner occupying or in possession
of property which is supplied with water or sewer service.
Any person owning or claiming to own or any mortgagee in
possession of any property or premises which is supplied with water
or sewer service.
A main running through private property or in a private street
to serve more than one home or other buildings or properties.
A pipe or pipes connected to a main and extending to privately
owned property for supplying water or sewer service.
The Superintendent of the Water and Sewer Department[2] of the Town and may also include the assistant superintendent
or acting superintendent of the Department.
