A.
Where the statutory or ordinance penalty does not exceed $50 for
each offense, including where the minimum statutory or ordinance penalty
does not exceed $50 for each offense, the defendant at any time before
the hearing date, upon presentation of the signed plea of guilty and
waiver of trial endorsed on the summons, may pay the penalty and in
addition, court costs of $24 in the Violations Bureau, subject to
the limitations prescribed in R.7:7, including the limitation when
the summons is marked to indicate that a court appearance is required.
B.
Where the statute or ordinance provides simply for a maximum penalty
not in excess of $50, it may be disposed of by payment through the
Violations Bureau of 1/2 the maximum penalty plus $24 court costs.
C.
Whenever a vehicle, which has already received a summons for a parking ordinance violation, exceeds the time permitted by twice the ordinance limit, and receives additional summonses, the penalty for each summons shall total the same amount set forth above. [For example, a vehicle which parks on North Trinity Street between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. on a weekday (referring to §§ 307-7 and 307-50) shall be subject to a summons and penalty for $30 for parking beyond the limited time of 15 minutes, and an additional summons and penalty of $30 if still parked 15 minutes after the issuance of the first summons. Additional summonses may thereafter be issued for each additional fifteen-minute violation.]
