1. 
The RO Rural Residential District is intended to encourage low-density residential development on lots of sufficient size to provide for on-lot sewage disposal and on-lot water supply.
2. 
A building or structure may be erected or altered, to be used either in whole or in part, and lots may be used or occupied for the following uses and no other, provided that such uses, buildings or structures shall comply with such regulations as yards, lot sizes, lot width, building area, heights, impervious surface, easements, bufferyards, off-street parking, and other requirements as specified by this chapter.

Unless otherwise specified herein, uses shall comply with the area and dimensional requirements listed in this section, unless a more restrictive area or dimensional requirement is stated in § 27-304, Use Regulations, for the specific use, in which case the requirements of § 27-304 shall apply.

B. 
Flexible Standard for Preservation Lots. The following standards shall be applied where a property of at least 10 acres or contiguous parcels totaling at least 15 acres are to be preserved from development in perpetuity through the Township preservation program or through any county, state or federal preservation program where no more than two building lots are to be set aside from the preserved area for development:
(1) 
Lot width may be reduced to 125 feet.
(2) 
Lot area may be reduced to one acre.

1. 
In order to protect and encourage the development and improvement of farming within the Township, this chapter strives to protect and encourage a positive agricultural business climate by protecting working farms operated in accordance with acceptable methods and techniques from nuisance actions.
2. 
Any agricultural use or activity that conforms to acceptable agricultural management practices when reasonable and necessary for the operation of a commercial farm may occur on holidays, weekends and weekdays, at night or during the day, subject to the restrictions and regulations of this chapter, state and Township health and sanitation codes,[1] and state and federal environmental issues.

Agricultural activities and uses protected by these provisions include, but are not limited to, the production, harvesting, storage, and marketing of crops, plants or animals; the use and application of techniques and methods of soil preparation and management; fertilization; weed, disease and pest control; disposal of farm waste; irrigation, drainage and water management; and grazing.

Residents within the RO District are hereby notified that there will be noise, dust and odors which result from normal farming practices and that these will be noticeable within the RO District.

Within the RO District, Use E1, Utilities, shall not exceed a height of 35 feet, except for public water supply facilities of Plumstead Township. Sewage pump stations, community sewage systems, municipal public sewer systems, community sewage treatment facilities, and single-family, small-flow treatment plants shall not be permitted.
