Whenever any new structure that requires a footing, including one- and two-family dwellings, is being erected or demolished, temporary chain link fencing at least six feet high shall be erected. This fencing shall completely enclose or contain the construction/demolition project. This provision shall also include any excavation greater than 24 inches in depth. The type of fencing shall be subject to the approval of the Construction Official. Failure to erect or maintain fencing in accordance with this section shall be deemed a violation of the demolition or construction permit issued. No fencing shall be removed from the premises except upon the approval of the Construction Code Official or Municipal Engineer.
