As used in this Article, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
The sale or offering for sale of ten (10) or more items of
personal property at any one (1) residential premises at any one (1)
time, excluding such sales as may be conducted by a bona fide charitable
organization, religious or fraternal society or other tax-exempt organization.
Unless specific written authorization is given by the Board
of Selectmen, not more than two (2) such yard sales shall be held
on any one (1) residential premises in each calendar year nor more
than one (1) such yard sale in any period of three (3) consecutive
months, and any such sale shall not continue for more than two (2)
consecutive days.
As a condition precedent to any such sale, written permission
for the holding of said yard sale must be secured from the Board of
Selectmen at least three (3) days prior thereto.
There shall be no off-premises signs advertising any yard sales.
Any person violating any of the provisions of this Article shall
be punished by a fine not exceeding twenty dollars ($20.) for each
offense. Each day that a violation hereof exists shall be deemed a
separate offense.
