The purpose of this ordinance is to adopt the 2006 Editions
of the Michigan Building, Plumbing, Mechanical, Residential (One-
and Two-Family Dwellings), Existing Building, the International Energy
Conservation, Private Sewage Disposal, Property Maintenance, Fire
and Fuel Gas Codes and the 2006 Edition of the National Electric Code
in the interests of the health, safety and welfare of the public in
compliance with and pursuant to Act 245 of the Public Acts of Michigan
of 1999, as amended.[1]

In addition,
any and all subsequent code change as referenced above be adopted
by the Village at the same time as they are by the State of Michigan
or the federal government.

Pursuant to Section 8b of Act 230 of the Public Acts of 1972
(MCLA § 125.1508b), as amended, the Village building inspectors
are designated as the enforcing agency to discharge the responsibilities
of the Village under Public Act No. 230 of 1972 (MCLA § 125.1509
et seq), as amended. The Village assumes responsibility for the administration
and enforcement of such act throughout its corporate limits.
