On streets where traffic is controlled by traffic-control signals,
pedestrians shall not cross a roadway against a red or stop signal
and shall not cross at any place except in a marked or unmarked crosswalk.
At intersections where traffic-control signals also have a walk phase,
pedestrians shall cross only with this walk phase. In any case, pedestrians
may cross as directed by a police officer.
A.
Wherever within the City of Glens Falls a police officer, sign or
traffic signal is provided at a street intersection to control the
movement of traffic, pedestrians shall cross only in the direction
indicated by the officer, sign or signal. It shall be unlawful for
any person to disobey the instructions of any mechanical traffic signal,
lettered traffic sign, paint marks placed upon the surface of the
roadway or any barriers or signs erected by the Board of Public Safety
or the Common Council of the City of Glens Falls.
B.
At the intersection where traffic is controlled by traffic-control
signals, pedestrians shall cross the street only in the direction
of moving traffic, and operators of vehicles when turning shall yield
the right-of-way to pedestrians when crossing.
A.
The areas described in Schedule XXIV (§ 208-71), attached to and made a part of this chapter, are hereby restricted to pedestrian traffic only, and no person shall drive a vehicle upon any such restricted areas.
B.
Designation of safety zones. The Board of Public Safety shall designate
from time to time such safety zones as it may deem proper.
