This chapter may be cited as the "New Mexico Uniform Traffic
Ordinance."
Headings contained in this chapter shall not be deemed to govern,
limit, modify or in any manner affect the scope, meaning or intent
of the provisions of this chapter.
If any part or parts of this chapter are held to be unconstitutional
or invalid, such unconstitutionality or invalidity shall not affect
the validity of the remaining parts of this chapter.
This chapter does not have a retroactive effect and does not
apply to any traffic accident, to any cause of action arising out
of a traffic accident or judgment arising therefrom, or to any violation
of the Traffic Ordinance of this municipality, occurring prior to
the effective date of this chapter.
The existing ordinances covering the same matters as embraced
in this chapter are repealed and all ordinances or parts of ordinances
inconsistent with the provisions of this chapter are repealed.
This chapter shall take effect on the 17th day of February 2010.
