This chapter shall be known as the "Local law providing residency requirements for the Village Clerk, Village Treasurer, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer."

The Board of Trustees of the Village of Spencerport, recognizing the administrative nature of the positions of the Village Clerk, Village Treasurer, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer, and in fulfilling its responsibility to the residents of the Village to appoint the most qualified persons to such positions and acting under the authority granted by § 3-300 of the Village Law of the State of New York, has determined that the Village Clerk, Village Treasurer, Deputy Clerk and Deputy Treasurer need not be residents of the Village but must be residents of Monroe County or an abutting or adjacent county.
