There shall be a Department of Municipal Parks the head of which
shall be the Director. Prior to his/her appointment the Director shall
have experience of a responsible nature involving the care and landscaping
of large tracts of ground and the repair of parks and playgrounds.
The Department of Municipal Parks shall:
A.Â
Plan and conduct a variety of maintenance and repair programs for
municipal parks and recreation facilities.
B.Â
Assign and instruct employees in their duties.
C.Â
Prepare budget estimates for the Department, including maintenance
and repair operations, staffing, and equipment purchases.
D.Â
Direct the maintenance and repairing of tracts of land, paths, parking
lots, lawns, playing fields and fences within the municipal parks
and on municipal property.
E.Â
Direct the sowing of grass seed, weeding and mowing of lawns, pruning
and spraying of trees trimming of shrubbery, painting and making repairs
to recreation facilities and buildings.
F.Â
Coordinate with the Director of Recreation Senior and Veterans services
and facility users for the availability and use of facilities.
