Editor's Note: This local law was subject to mandatory referendum and was approved by the electors of the Town of Naples 11-4-2008.
This article shall be known as the "Superintendent of Highways and Town Clerk Four-Year Term Law of 2008 for the Town of Naples."
The purpose of this article is to amend the terms of office of the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Naples and the Town Clerk of the Town of Naples from two years to four years.
This article is adopted pursuant to the provisions of the Municipal Home Rule Law of the State of New York and is subject to the mandatory referendum provisions of § 23 of said law.
The elective terms of office of Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Naples and Town Clerk of the Town of Naples shall be four years as of the effective date of this article.
This article shall supersede § 24 of the Town Law of the State of New York in its application to the Town of Naples with respect to the terms of office of the Superintendent of Highways of the Town of Naples and Town Clerk of the Town of Naples.
