[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Trustees of the Village
of Nyack 3-1-1993 by L.L. No. 4-1993 (Ch. 44 of the 1972 Code). Amendments
noted where applicable.]
A.Â
The Village of Nyack's sewer laws are those adopted by and in
effect in the Town of Orangetown, as codified in Chapters 30 and 30A
of the Code of the Town of Orangetown. Said chapters are hereby incorporated
by reference in their entirety, both as such chapters currently exist
or as they may be amended in the future.
B.Â
Copies of the current versions of these laws are available at the
office of the Village Clerk, at the Village's Building Department,
at the Town of Orangetown Town Hall and at the office of the Orangetown
Sewer District during normal business hours.
C.Â
The Village of Nyack supplements those laws by retaining its old
§ 44-26, which provides as follows:
Grease, oil and sand interceptors shall be provided when, in
the opinion of the Village Superintendent of the Department of Public
Works or the Town of Orangetown Sewer Department head, they are necessary
for the proper handling of liquid wastes containing grease in excessive
amounts, or any flammable wastes, sand or other harmful ingredients;
except that such interceptors shall not be required for private living
quarters or dwelling units. All interceptors shall be of a type and
capacity approved by the Superintendent and shall be so located as
to be readily and easily accessible for cleaning and inspection.

D.Â
Violators of these laws shall be subject to whatever penalties are
set forth therein. These laws may be enforced by either the Town of
Orangetown (by those representatives specifically identified in said
laws) or by the Building Inspector or the Superintendent of Public
Works of the Village of Nyack.
