Borough of Franklin Lakes, NJ Chapter 279 Garage Sales

§ 279-1 Definitions.

For the purposes of this chapter, the following terms shall have the meanings indicated:

GARAGE SALE

Any sale entitled garage sale, lawn sale, attic sale, rummage sale, estate sale, flea market sale, or any other similar sale of used personal or household items held on the seller's premises, for purchase by third parties.

PERSON

Any individual, firm, association, partnership or corporation.

§ 279-2 Garage sales permitted; limit on number and duration.

A. Garage sales are permitted in the Borough.

B. No more than two garage sales are permitted per premises per calendar year.

C. Garage sales are limited to no more than two consecutive days for each one.

§ 279-3 Violations and penalties.

For violation of any provision of this chapter, the penalty upon conviction of the violation shall be a fine not exceeding $1,000. Each and every day in which a violation of any provision of this chapter exists shall constitute a separate violation.
