GENERAL REFERENCES
Vehicles and traffic — See Ch. 103.
Permit parking — See Ch. 315.
No person shall park a vehicle in any parking space designated and marked as being set aside for the physically handicapped in any parking facility unless said vehicle shall have affixed thereto a special handicapped vehicle identification certificate or marker issued by the New Jersey Director of the Division of Motor Vehicles or by the appropriate official or agency of another state or local government. Parking in a handicapped space without the aforesaid vehicle identification shall create a rebuttable presumption that use of the space was not for the physically handicapped.
Any person who parks a motor vehicle in a parking space which is restricted for handicapped parking without a special vehicle identification card shall be, upon conviction, fined the sum of $250 for the first such offense and, for subsequent offenses, shall, upon conviction, be subject to a fine of at least $250 and shall be subject to a period of community service upon such terms and in such form as the court may deem appropriate, or both, at the discretion of the Municipal Court Judge.
This chapter shall be enforced by the Jackson Township Police Department.
