There is hereby established for the Village of Baldwinsville
the position of Village Engineer, the function of which is to oversee
the Department of Public Works and Codes Department of the Village
of Baldwinsville.
There is hereby designated in the Village of Baldwinsville a
public official to be known as the "Village Engineer" who shall be
appointed by the Mayor with the approval of the Village Board of Trustees
at a compensation to be fixed by the Board of Trustees.
A.Â
General. This position requires a person with engineering and managerial
background in all areas of public works administration. The Village
Engineer will be expected to perform a variety of public works related
assignments, including civil engineering, as needed, primarily in
the office but also in the field. This position reports to the Mayor
and Village Board of Trustees, routinely deals with the public and
interacts closely with various Village boards and committees. The
Village Engineer shall perform various functions relating to the proper
operation of the department and shall fulfill the responsibilities
under the combined position requirements of the Onondaga County Civil
Service Department job description (Numbers 10290 and 10610) and the
Village job description for the position of Village Engineer, dated
September 2007.

Qualifications for the position shall be as follows:
The Village Engineer shall be appointed by the Mayor with the
approval of the Village Board of Trustees for a term of office of
two years. Compensation of the Village Engineer for the appointed
term shall be fixed by the Board of Trustees.
