Whereas,
the governing body of Butler Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania,
did adopt by resolution a Multimunicipal Comprehensive Plan ("Plan")
created in cooperation with the municipalities of East Butler Borough,
Summit Township, Penn Township and the City of Butler;
B.Â
Whereas,
the Butler Township Board of Commissioners find that entering into
an intergovernmental cooperation agreement (a true and correct copy
of the intergovernmental cooperation agreement is attached hereto
as Exhibit A[1]) (ICA) with above-listed municipalities is the legal vehicle
to allow for implementation of the Plan; and

Whereas,
a public hearing has been held and notice has been made according
to law.
Now therefore, be it ordained and enacted by the Board of Commissioners of Butler Township, Butler County, Pennsylvania, pursuant to Article III and Article XI of the Pennsylvania Municipalities Planning Code[1] and Pennsylvania Intergovernmental Cooperation Act, 53
Pa.C.S.A. § 2301 et seq., that the Township enter into the
intergovernmental cooperation agreement attached thereto for the purpose
of supporting the implementation of the Multimunicipal Comprehensive
Plan.[2]
