By the adoption of this chapter, the Town Board of the Town of Little Valley determines that it is in the best interests of the residents of the Town that Local Law 1-1977, commonly known as the "Town of Little Valley Junkyard Ordinance," be repealed, which action will effect the regulation of automobile junkyards in the Town of Little Valley by § 136 of the General Municipal Law of the State of New York from and after the effective date hereof.
Local Law No. 1-1977 of the Town of Little Valley entitled "A Local Law Licensing and Regulating Junkyards and Dealers and Second-Hand Junk and Auto Parts Activities and Business" is hereby repealed.
Pursuant to the requirements of § 136(13) of the General Municipal Law, within 60 days from the effective date of this chapter, the owners of established junkyards, as defined in said law, shall furnish to the Town Board the information as to location which is required in an application pursuant to such section, together with the license fee, and the Town Board shall issue a license to such owners valid until April 1, 1999, at which time each such owner may apply for renewal upon establishing compliance with all other provisions of § 136 of the General Municipal Law, including the fencing requirements set forth in Subdivision 11 thereof.
