The purpose of this article is to establish snow emergency routes by restricting the use of certain streets during periods of snow or ice emergencies in order to expedite snow removal and traffic flow.
The Borough Council may establish, by resolution, certain streets within the Borough of Old Forge as snow emergency routes.
The Mayor is authorized to declare snow emergencies when, in his opinion, hazardous conditions which would impede the safe flow of traffic exist because of snow or ice.
A. 
All parking shall be prohibited on streets designated as snow emergency routes during snow emergencies. The parking ban shall remain in effect until the Mayor has declared the snow emergency ended.
B. 
In the event that vehicles are not removed during a snow emergency, the Borough has the right to tow said vehicle.
The Borough shall post the designated snow emergency routes with signs indicating that parking is prohibited during snow emergencies in conformance with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation regulations.
Penalties shall be set in conformance with the Pennsylvania Vehicle Code.[1]
