A.
This chapter shall be entitled "A Local Law Adopting the Updated
Comprehensive Master Plan of the Village of Poquott."
B.
Enactment. Pursuant to § 10 of the Home Rule Law, and § 7-722
of the Village Law, the Incorporated Village of Poquott, County of
Suffolk, State of New York, hereby enacts this Local Law No. 1 of
2012 of the Incorporated Village of Poquott.
C.
Findings. The Board of Trustees of the Incorporated Village of Poquott
does hereby find and determine that to protect the public health,
safety, and general welfare of its citizens that the Village's
Master Plan requires updating.
The Village Board of the Village of Poquott recognizes that
one of the most important powers granted to it by the state is the
authority and responsibility to undertake Village comprehensive planning
and to regulate land use for the purpose of protecting public health,
safety, and general welfare of its citizens. The Village's natural
beauty, its parks, and recreational facilities, and the future development
of residences and changes or amendments to its Zoning Laws are measured
against the Village's Master Plan. The Board of Trustees of the
Village of Poquott has determined that the Village's Master Plan
is outdated and is in need of updating.
As used in this chapter, the following terms shall have the
meanings indicated:
The definitions contained in the Village Law of the State
of New York § 7-722.2 et seq, is incorporated herein by
reference as if fully set forth herein.
The Comprehensive Master as updated, with all exhibits and
addendum attached thereto.
