There shall be a five-member Zoning Board of Appeals operated in conformance with C.G.S. § 8-5. All will serve without compensation. Two members shall be elected at each biennial election for the term of five years. One member shall take office on the next following date specified in Chapter 50, Article II, of the Town Code, for the commencement of the term of office of elected officials, and the other shall take office on the first Monday of January of the second calendar year following his or her election. This procedure shall be followed at each biennial election so that the membership will continue to be five and that not more than one term will expire in each year.
