For the purpose of this chapter, the Town of Elma is hereby divided into eight classes of zones, for which regulations limiting height, bulk and arrangement of buildings have been prepared in Article
XI, hereinafter referred to as:
Residential A Zone

Residential B Zone
|
Residential C and Agricultural Zone
|
Neighborhood Commercial C-1 District
|
Intermediate Commercial C-2 District
|
Major Commercial C-3 District
|
Industrial Zone
|
Elma Center Overlay
|

These zone classes are shown on the Zoning Map hereinafter described
and are indicated by colors and/or cross-hatching, as shown in the
legend, and this map, and all amendments thereto, is hereby made part
of this chapter.
The Zoning Map, when duly certified, shall be filed and displayed
in the office of the Town Clerk and with the Zoning Board of Appeals
and the Planning Board.
All amendments which shall be made at any time shall be filed
by the Town Clerk with the Zoning Board of Appeals and the Planning
Board.
The boundaries of each of the created zones are hereby established
as shown on the map entitled "Zoning Map — Town of
Elma," on public display in the office of the Town Clerk, and which
is hereby declared to be a part of this chapter.
The Zone boundary lines are intended generally to parallel street
lines at right angular distances there from as indicated in the legend
and to follow existing lot lines or their extensions or corporate
boundary lines as indicated on the Zoning Map. In cases of conflict
of boundaries, the Zoning Map shall prevail.
From and after the date this chapter becomes effective, every
building or portion of building erected, altered, added to, converted
or relocated and every use within a building or accessory thereto
or upon any premises in any zone shall be in conformity with the provisions
of this chapter.
