GENERAL REFERENCES

No trucks, engines, automobiles, automotive equipment or any other machinery owned by the Village of Lancaster shall be used for other than municipal purposes.
All mechanical equipment mentioned in § A360-1, above, shall be operated solely by Village employees pursuant to pertinent rules and regulations pertaining to the respective department of the employee's service. Except when used for municipal purposes, the said equipment may be operated by other than an employee, provided appropriate insurance coverage is maintained.
No passengers other than Village employees engaged in the normal course of their duties shall be permitted in or upon mechanical equipment mentioned in § A360-1, above.
No mechanical equipment mentioned in § A360-1, above, shall be operated outside of the physical limits of the Village of Lancaster, New York, without the prior approval of the department head to whom the employee is responsible.
All of the mechanical equipment mentioned in § A360-1, above, shall be operated in a safe and diligent manner so as to minimize the chances of accident or injury both to the operator and/or authorized passengers thereof and any other person or property.
Any violations of the above rules and regulations will be deemed as operation outside of the scope of municipal employment, and the employee responsible will himself bear the economic loss to the Village, whether for damage to property or personal injuries.
