[HISTORY: Adopted by the Borough Council of the Borough of

An independent examination of the accounting records of the
Borough for each fiscal year beginning January 1, 1975, shall be made
by an independent auditor to be appointed by Councilman resolution
adopted prior to the close of the fiscal year to be audited.
The independent auditor to be appointed as herein provided shall
be a certified public accountant registered in Pennsylvania, a firm
of certified public accountants so registered or a competent public
accountant or a competent firm of public accountants.
The independent auditor to be appointed as herein provided shall also perform the other duties and exercise the powers as conferred upon him by Subdivision (k) of Article XI of the Borough Code.[1]

The compensation of the independent auditor, to be appointed
as herein provided, shall be as agreed upon between the Borough Council
and said auditor to be appointed and shall be set forth in the resolution
making the appointment.
