The following councilmanic districts have been formulated to
comply with all applicable standards of state and federal law.
The following six councilmanic districts and their boundaries
are hereby established in the Town of Hempstead and are based upon
and referenced to the 2020 U.S. Census Tract Reference Map for Nassau
County. The following councilmanic district boundaries shall be utilized
in the Town election of 2023, in which elections shall be held in
councilmanic districts 2, 3 and 5 for four-year terms, and councilmanic
district 4 for a two-year term due to the vacancy created by the resignation
of 4th district Councilmember Anthony P. D'Esposito on or about
January 1, 2023 after being elected to a four-year term for the 4th
district in the Town election of 2021. Councilmanic districts 1, 4,
and 6 shall not elect a representative for a four-year term under
the following councilmanic districts until the Town election of 2025
due to councilmanic districts 1, 4, and 6 each electing a representative
for a four-year term in 2021. These councilmanic districts shall be
utilized in all Town elections, including special elections, until
the Town Board again revises the councilmanic districts as provided
under any applicable law.
