The office of Township Manager is hereby created by the Board
of Supervisors, subject to the right to abolish said office at any
time by ordinance.
The Manager shall be chosen solely on the basis of executive
and administrative abilities with special reference to training and
experience in municipal management and to the duties of the office
as set forth in this chapter.
Before entering upon the duties of the office, the Manager shall
give a bond to the Township with a bonding company as surety, to be
approved by the Board of Supervisors, in the sum of 100% of the tax
duplicate, conditioned upon the faithful performance and fidelity
to the duties and responsibilities of the office. The premium for
said bond shall be paid by the Township.
Should the Manager become ill or disabled, or otherwise need
to be absent from the Township, the Assistant Manager or other person
designated by the Board of Supervisors shall perform the duties of
the Manager. The Assistant Manager or other designated person shall
not perform these duties for a period in excess of two weeks without
the approval of the Board of Supervisors.
