This Chapter is intended to encourage excellence in the design
of signage, to promote compatibility with the immediate surrounding
areas and to project the City of Ellisville as a premier business
environment.

This Chapter shall govern the construction, erection, alteration,
repair, maintenance and removal of all signs within the City with
respect to their use, number, structure, design, safety, aesthetics,
fees and permits.

Only those signs listed as permitted within each applicable
district are allowed; any sign not so included is prohibited.

Where more restrictive in respect to location, use, size, illumination
and lighting, or height of signs, the Zoning Ordinance shall take
precedence over the restrictions of this Chapter.

This Chapter shall be known as the "Sign Code" of the City and
shall be referred herein as "the code."
