A. 
A certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Union, being marked and designated as the International Building Code 2009 Edition, as published by the International Code Council Inc., be it hereby adopted as the Building Code of the City of Union, Missouri, for the control of building and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Building Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Section, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Section 500.020 of this Article.
B. 
Penalty. Any person violating any of the provisions of the Code adopted in this Section shall be deemed guilty of an ordinance violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned in the City or County Jail for a period of not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.

The following Sections of the International Plumbing Code, 2009 Edition, are hereby revised as follows:
P-101.1 Title: These regulations shall be known as the Plumbing Code of the City of Union, Missouri, hereinafter referred to as "this code".
P-106.5.3 Expiration: Change the following — 180 days to 365 days.
P-106.6.2 Fees Schedule: The fees for plumbing work shall be as indicated in the schedule established in Article III Section 500.100 of this Chapter.
P-106.3 Fee Refund: Delete in its entirety.

P-108.5 Stop Work Orders: Upon notice from the Code Official, work on any plumbing system that is being done contrary to the provisions of this code or in a dangerous or unsafe manner shall immediately cease. Such notice shall be in writing and shall be given to the owner of the property, or to the owner's agent, or to the person doing the work. The notice shall state the conditions under which work is authorized to resume. Where an emergency exists, the Code Official shall not be required to give a written notice prior to stopping the work. Any person who shall continue any work in or about the structure after having been served with a stop work order, except such work as the person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00).
P-109.2 Membership of Board: The Board of Appeals shall consist of the Board of Adjustment as prescribed in Article II, Sections 400.050 through 400.130 of the Municipal Code of the City of Union.

For the purpose of the protection of the public health, safety and welfare with respect to establishing minimum standards for buildings used for dwelling purposes, there is hereby adopted the BOCA National Property Maintenance Code, 1996 Edition, as recommended by the Building Officials Conference of America. One (1) copy of the Property Maintenance Code adopted in this Section shall be on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City for public inspection.
B.

Any person violating any of the provisions of the Code adopted in this Section shall be deemed guilty of an ordinance violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined in an amount not exceeding five hundred dollars ($500.00) or be imprisoned in the City or County Jail for a period of not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day such violation is committed or permitted to continue shall constitute a separate offense and shall be punishable as such hereunder.

A certain document, one (1) copy of which is on file in the office of the City Engineer of the City of Union, being marked and designated as the International Fire Code 2009 Edition, as published by the International Code Council Inc., be it hereby adopted as the Fire Code of the City of Union, Missouri, for the control of building and structures as herein provided; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Building Code are hereby referred to, adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Section, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in Subsection (B) of this Section.
B.

Such notice shall be in writing and shall be given to the owner of the property, or to the owner's agent, or to the person doing the work. The notice shall state the conditions under which work is authorized to resume. Where an emergency exists, the Code Official shall not be required to give a written notice prior to stopping the work. Any person who shall continue any work in or about the structure after having been served with a stop work order, except such work as the person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00).

Adoption of the Fire Prevention Code as set out in Section 500.080 will therefore join the City with the Union Fire Protection District to allow their inspection of buildings within the City as needed for compliance with the BOCA Codes.

The City does not issue building permits in relation to the Fire Prevention Code; however, the City does hereby encourage all its citizenry to comply with all Codes required by the Fire Protection District.

The City shall not charge the Fire Protection District for any water usage or cost of maintenance of City-owned fire hydrants in its duties, excluding domestic water at the various stations, which shall be charged at the normal rate as provided for by this Code, and, in return, the Fire Protection District shall not charge the City for any fire permits that may be needed within the City-owned buildings or future buildings.
