Section 630.010 Definitions.

Unless the context clearly indicates otherwise, the following terms mean:

PROPRIETOR

Any manager or person in charge of any place where transient guests are accommodated for sleeping or lodging purposes.

REGISTER

Any card, guest card, booklet or other paper work wherein transient guests supply information such as names, addresses and vehicle registration information.

TRANSIENT GUEST

Any person who rents and occupies a guest room in a lodging establishment for a period of less than thirty-one (31) days.

Section 630.020 True Name To Be Written in Register.

Each individual renting or leasing a room, accommodations or facilities of the hotel shall register and may be required by the owner or operator of the hotel to show proof of identity by producing a valid driver's license, other identification issued by the State or other identification satisfactory to the owner or operator. If the individual is under the age of eighteen (18), the owner or operator may also require a parent or guardian of the person to register.

Section 630.030 Rooms To Be Rented Only Once Between 6:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M.

No proprietor, manager or other person in charge of any place where transient guests are accommodated for sleeping or lodging purposes shall let or rent any room or rooms more than once between the hours of 6:00 P.M. and 6:00 A.M. the following day, except to bona fide travelers with baggage.

Section 630.040 Register Required.

The guest registry may be kept and maintained by recording, copying or reproducing the registry by any photographic, photostatic, microfilm, microcard, miniature photographic, electronic imaging, electronic data processing or other process which accurately reproduces or forms a durable medium for accurately and legibly reproducing an unaltered image or reproduction of the original.

Section 630.050 Duty of Proprietor To Maintain Register.

It will be the duty of the proprietor or person in charge to log in the register the names, addresses, dates or entrance and departure, make, model and license number of each transient guest seeking sleeping accommodations.
