The City shall participate as an employer-member of the Local Government Employees' Retirement System of the State of Missouri.

All full-time City employees including employees of the Richmond Heights Public Library, except members of the Police and Fire Departments covered by a separate tax supported pension and retirement fund, are covered by a state-wide retirement plan called "Local Government Employees' Retirement System (LAGERS), as set forth in Sections 70.600 to 70.755 of Missouri Revised Statutes. Employees so covered contribute four percent (4%) of their gross salary (after a six (6) month waiting period) toward the plan. At the start of their employment, employees covered shall receive a pamphlet describing the plan, which constitutes the responsibility of the City as regards advising employees of the plan.

All City employment prior to the City's participation in the State retirement system shall be credited in full to the employees' employment credit.

The Clerk is authorized and directed to supply all information required by the Board of Trustees of the Local Government Employees' Retirement System to make the system effective.

The City of Richmond Heights, Missouri, hereby elects Benefit Program L-6 (2.00%) in accordance with the provisions of Section 70.655, RSMo., as amended.

The City of Richmond Heights hereby elects the thirty-six (36) month final average salary plan in accordance with the provisions of Section 70.656, RSMo., as amended.
