The administration of health laws and ordinances in the Borough
shall be enforced by the Board of Health, established in accordance
with the provisions of the Borough Code.[1] The Board of Health shall have general supervision over
sanitary conditions in the Borough and shall perform all the duties
and may exercise all the powers vested by law in boards of health
of Boroughs.

The Board of Health, at its annual organization meeting, shall
appoint a secretary from among its members and a Health Officer who
shall not be a member of the Board. In case of epidemic or other emergency,
the Board of Health may appoint one or more additional health officers.
