A.
The City
Council acknowledges and ratifies the results of the election held
on November 6, 1999, at which the voters of the City approved the
assessment of a fee of not more than twenty-eight dollars ($28.00)
annually to pay the cost of repairs for defective lateral sewer service
lines.
B.
The City Council authorizes, ratifies and directs the immediate collection of the annual fee from all owners of residential property for the year 2000 in order to ensure program operation beginning January 1, 2001 as provided in Subsection (C) hereof. All funds received from such collection shall be separated from all other revenues, credited to an appropriate fund or account of the City and expended only in accordance with the policy adopted pursuant to Subsection (C) hereof.
C.
The Sewer Lateral Repair Policy, marked as Exhibit A and on file in City Hall, is hereby adopted and all payments made from the fund established in Subsection (B) hereof shall be disbursed only in accordance with said policy. The City Clerk (or other appropriate City Official) shall account for the revenue and disbursements of said fund like all other City revenues and expenditures.
