Any disassembled or inoperable and unlicensed motor vehicles, and junked or wrecked motor vehicles, boats, refrigerators, iceboxes, appliances, machinery and the like, shall be stored in a permanent enclosed building.

Whenever the Village Administrator or Village designee shall find such vehicles or equipment placed or stored in the open upon public property within the corporate limits of the Village of Sherwood, Wisconsin, for a period in excess of three days, he shall cause such vehicles or equipment to be removed and stored for a period of 30 days. Notice shall be provided to the owner and lienholders of record by certified mail. At the end of the thirty-day period, he shall dispose of any unclaimed vehicle or equipment in accordance with § 342.40, Wis. Stats.

Whenever the Village Administrator or Village designee shall find any such vehicles or equipment placed or stored in the open upon private property within the corporate limits of the Village of Sherwood, Wisconsin, for a period in excess of three days, he shall notify the owner of the property upon which the vehicles or equipment is placed or stored that he is in violation of this article and that the offending vehicle or equipment must be removed immediately. If such vehicles or equipment is not removed within 30 days, the Village Administrator or Village designee shall take all appropriate action to cause said vehicles or equipment to be removed, the costs of such removal to be charged to the property from which it is removed, which charges shall be entered as a special charge on the tax roll. After removal, the procedures set forth in § 7-2 above shall be followed.
If such vehicles or equipment is claimed by the owner, a reasonable charge shall be made for handling and storage.
The provision of this article shall not apply to all salvage yards, junkyards or automotive sales or repair facilities that are duly licensed under state law and/or ordinance provisions of the Village. To the extent that this article conflicts with the provisions of § 341.266, Wis. Stats., relating to collectors of special interest vehicles, the provisions of the statutes shall govern and apply.
This article shall not be construed to permit auto salvage yards or junkyards within the Village.

Any person who shall violate the provisions of this article shall be punishable as prescribed in Chapter 40, Fees and Penalties, of this Code.
