Borough of Edgeworth, PA Chapter 4 Auditor, Appointed

§ 4-1 Office created; appointment.

The Borough of Edgeworth hereby creates the office of appointed auditor. Council will appoint an independent auditor annually, by resolution, before the close of the each fiscal year.

§ 4-2 Qualifications; powers and duties.

The appointed auditor must be a certified public accountant, registered in Pennsylvania, a firm of certified public accountants so registered or a competent public accountant or a competent firm of public accountants and must meet any other qualification requirements found in the Borough Code, and will have the powers and duties set forth therein.

§ 4-3 Office of elected Borough Auditor abolished.

When an independent auditor is appointed as provided in this chapter, the office of elected Borough Auditor will thereby be abolished, although the Borough Auditors then in office shall continue to hold their office during the term for which elected, and the Borough Auditors shall not audit, settle, or adjust the accounts audited by the independent auditor but shall perform the other duties of their office.
