[HISTORY: Adopted by the Board of Supervisors of the Township of Darlington 6-9-2014 by Ord. No. 4-2014. Amendments noted where applicable.]
Pursuant to 53 P.S. § 67204, a Recreation Board, to be known as the Darlington Township Recreation Board ("Board") is hereby created.
A. 
The Board shall consist of five members, to be appointed by the Township Supervisors. The members shall serve for a period of five years, or until their successors are appointed. Terms will begin January 1 and expire on December 31. All members must own property or live within the Township.
B. 
Vacancies shall be appointed by the Township Supervisors and appointment will be for remainder of the unexpired term.
C. 
The Township Supervisors will initially appoint members to terms of one, two, three, four, and five years. Afterwards each member will be appointed by the Township Supervisors for a period of five years.
Members will receive no pay for their appointment, but will be reimbursed by the Township for expenses incurred in performing their duties.
The Board shall maintain, operate, and supervise the public parks, ballfields, and all outdoor and indoor recreation areas and facilities owned or controlled by Darlington Township. The Board will further carry out any other orders or directions of the Supervisors regarding recreation within Darlington Township.
The Board will elect yearly a Chairman and Secretary, along with any other necessary officers. The Board may adopt rules and regulations for the conduct of all business. The Board will meet each January and will meet throughout the year on an as needed basis.
A report will be submitted annually to the Supervisors, which will summarize the adequacy and effectiveness of community recreation areas, facilities, leadership, and include a highlight of work done through the year and recommendations for the year moving forward.
