A. 
All electrical construction, all material and appliances used in connection with electrical work and the operation of all electrical apparatus within the City shall conform to the rules and regulations of the National Fire Protection Association for the installation of wiring and apparatus for electrical purposes as set out in the National Electrical Code, 2017 Edition, except Annex H, relating to Administration. All rules and requirements of the National Electrical Code as denoted above are hereby adopted and incorporated by specific reference thereto as if fully set out herein. A copy of said National Electrical Code is available for public review in the office of the City Clerk and reference thereto shall be had as often as may be necessary to determine the provisions thereof.

B. 
There is further adopted and incorporated herein by specific reference thereto, as if fully set out herein, a Poplar Bluff Electrical Code. Such code is filed in the offices of the City Clerk and Building Inspector and reference thereto shall be had as often as may be necessary to determine the provisions thereof.
C. 
In the event of any conflict between the provisions of such electrical code and the provisions of the Poplar Bluff Electrical Code or this Code of Ordinances or State law, the provisions of the Poplar Bluff Electrical Code, this Code of Ordinances or the State law shall prevail and be controlling.

The Electrical Inspector shall have the responsibility and authority to make interpretations of the provisions of this Chapter and the National Electrical Code for deciding upon the approval of equipment, materials, construction and for granting the special permission contemplated in a number of the rules and, where necessary, shall follow the code procedure for securing official interpretations of the code. If the Electrical Inspector is not available, a City Electrical Department supervisor may make the interpretations outlined above.
Any person who shall violate a provision of the code adopted in this Article or shall fail to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who shall erect, construct, alter or repair a building or structure in violation of an approved plan of or directive of the Code Official, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provision of this code, shall be guilty of an ordinance violation, punishable by a fine of not more than five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment not exceeding ninety (90) days, or both such fine and imprisonment. Each day that a violation continues after due notice has been served shall be deemed a separate offense.
