A. 
A certain document copy written 2002, titled International Fire Code 2003, published by the International Code Council, Inc., three (3) copies of which are on file in the office of the City Clerk of the City of Scott City, Missouri, being marked and designated as the International Fire Code 2003 is hereby adopted as the Fire Prevention Code of the City of Scott City, Missouri, for the control of buildings and structures as herein provided and each and all other regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of the International Fire Code 2003 are hereby adopted and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in this Code, with additions, insertions, deletions and changes, if any, prescribed in this Section of this Code.
B. 
Any person violating the terms of the Fire Prevention Code shall be guilty of a misdemeanor and upon conviction shall be punished with a fine not to exceed five hundred dollars ($500.00) or by imprisonment in the City Jail for a period not to exceed ninety (90) days, or by both fine and imprisonment. Each day a violation of the Fire Prevention Code continues shall constitute a separate offense.

A. 
Any new commercial, manufacturing and/or multifamily buildings which have a fire alarm system or other fire protection system shall provide a secure key box installed in a location accessible to the Fire Department in case of an emergency. This key box shall contain keys to fire alarm control panels and other keys necessary to operate or service fire protection systems. Such box shall be provided with master keys necessary to access portions of the premises in case of an emergency.

B. 
The key box shall be in a type approved by the Chief of the Scott City Fire Department and shall be located and installed as approved by the Chief.

A. 
Any new commercial, manufacturing and/or multi-family buildings consisting of three (3) stories or more shall have installed thereon each level an approved sprinkler system or automatic fire suppression system, which complies with the 2015 International Building Code. Said system shall be installed by a person who has the certification to install sprinkler systems.
B. 
No building permit shall be approved for any new commercial, manufacturing or multi-family building which consists of three (3) or more stories, unless the floor plan submitted with the permit reflects the installation of the sprinkler system, including location of all lines.
C. 
No occupancy permit shall be granted unless the sprinkler system and/or fire suppression system is fully installed and functional.
D. 
Any construction which increases the number of stories on any existing commercial, manufacturing or multi-family buildings to three (3) or more, shall also be required to have a sprinkler system or automatic fire suppression system installed on any addition pursuant to the above.
