A.
The International Fire Code, 2018 Edition, including Appendix Chapters (see International Fire Code Section 101.2.1, 2018 edition), as published by the International Code Council, be and is hereby adopted as the Fire Code of the City of Brentwood, Missouri, regulating and governing the safeguarding of life and property from fire and explosion hazards arising from the storage, handling and use of hazardous substances, materials and devices, and from conditions hazardous to life or property in the occupancy of buildings and premises as herein provided; providing for the issuance of permits and collection of fees therefore; and each and all of the regulations, provisions, penalties, conditions and terms of said Fire Code on file in the office of the City Clerk are hereby referred to, adopted, and made a part hereof, as if fully set out in Section 500.840, with the additions, insertions, deletions and changes prescribed below.
B.
The
following Sections are hereby revised to read as follows:
1.
Section 101.1. Title. These regulations shall be
known as the Fire Code of the City of Brentwood.
2.
Section 110.4 Violation penalties. Any person who violates a provision of this code or fails to comply with any of the requirements thereof or who erects, constructs, alters or repairs a building or structure in violation of the approved construction documents or directive of the Fire Marshall, or of a permit or certificate issued under the provisions of this code, shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of Section 100.080 of the Brentwood City Code.
3.
Section 112.4. Failure to comply. Any person who shall continue any work after having been served with a stop work order, except such work as the person is directed to perform to remove a violation or unsafe condition, shall be punishable in accordance with the provisions of Section 100.080 of the Brentwood City Code.

Section 5704.2.9.6.1. The storage of Class I and
Class II liquids in above-ground tanks outside a building is prohibited
within the City of Brentwood without the written consent of Fire Marshall.
Existing tanks in safe condition and complying with State and Federal
requirements will be allowed to remain.
5.
Section 5704.2.9.5. The storage of Class I and Class
II liquids in above-ground tanks inside a building is prohibited within
the City of Brentwood without the written consent of Fire Marshall.
Existing tanks in safe condition and complying with State and Federal
requirements will be allowed to remain.
6.
Section 5806.2. Limitations. The storage of flammable
cryogenic fluids in stationary containers is prohibited within the
City of Brentwood without the written consent of Fire Code Official.
Existing tanks in safe condition and complying with State and Federal
requirements will be allowed to remain.
7.
Section 6104.2. Maximum capacity within established limits. The storage of liquefied petroleum gas is restricted for the protection
of heavily populated or congested areas and is prohibited within the
City of Brentwood, except for residential or recreational uses in
small quantities, without the written consent of Fire Marshall. Existing
tanks in safe condition and complying with State and Federal requirements
will be allowed to remain.

In
order to protect the life and safety of the general public, it is
necessary to provide the inspection and approval of construction of
buildings open to the general public and residential dwellings. To
ensure construction meets the standards of construction set forth
in the Fire Prevention Code adopted by the City, a fire safety systems
permit is required for any suppressions, extinguishing or alarm system
from the Department of Planning and Development to construct or remodel
such systems in any commercial, industrial, multi-family residential
or community use building in the City. This Section does not apply
to one- and two-family dwellings or townhouses of three (3) stories
or less as covered by the International Residential 2009 Edition.
