A part time, non-Civil Service, police officer in the Borough of Green Tree may be employed by the Borough in accordance with Appendix B of the Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA) of 2013.
The applicant must satisfy each of the following minimum qualifications at the time of application:
A. 
The applicant must be at least 24 years old.
B. 
The applicant must have completed Act 120 training at a certified training academy approved by the Municipal Police Officers Education Training Commission (MPOETC).
C. 
The applicant must have a valid MPOETC number or the ability to obtain a valid MPOETC number, within 30 days of offer of employment.
D. 
The applicant must have a minimum of three years' (6,240 hours') experience as a full- or part-time police officer in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.
E. 
The applicant must submit a timely, complete application as may be required by the Borough.
The applicant must successfully complete each of the following pre-employment reviews and tests:
A. 
Applicant will complete a written exercise designed to test the applicant's ability to analyze a situation, compose a concise and cogent report, and demonstrate simple office automation skills.
B. 
Applicant will complete a oral exam which will consist of questions designed to assess the individual's technical skills, ethics, understanding of the position of police officer, and communication abilities.
C. 
The candidates who pass the written and oral exams will be subject to background investigations.
D. 
Candidates who pass the oral and written exams may assert veterans' preference by providing a DD-214, Certificate of Release or Discharge from Active Duty. Any qualified candidate who is eligible for veterans' preference pursuant to the Veterans' Preference Act, 51 Pa.C.S.A. § 701 et seq., and has submitted the appropriate documentation shall be selected over a qualified nonveteran.
E. 
A candidate who is selected will be offered a conditional offer of employment contingent upon the candidate successfully completing a medical and psychological examination.
The successful applicant must be available to work such hours and days as may be required by the Borough and its Police Department, subject to such reasonable accommodations as may be appropriate.
