It is the purpose of this Article to provide a just, equitable and practicable time frame for the demolition of buildings or structures that if left may endanger life, limb, health, property, safety or welfare of the general public and this Chapter shall apply to all buildings or structures that now are in existence or that may hereafter exist in the City of Willow Springs, Howell County, Missouri.

Permits for demolition shall be as provided in Section 500.110 of this Code.

A permit shall become invalid if work is not commenced within thirty (30) days after issuance of the permit, or if authorized work is suspended or abandoned for a period of ten (10) days after commencing work. All work including grading and lot re-construction must be completed within ninety (90) days after commencing work unless a written extension of time is issued by the Building Official.

Any person violating the provisions of this Article is guilty of an ordinance violation and upon conviction thereof shall be fined as set out in Section 100.220 of this Code. Each day that a person fails to comply with an order of the Building Commissioners may be deemed a separate offense.
